Since the outbreak of COVID-19, Wuhan has been the center of national epidemic prevention and control. Major public hospitals in Wuhan shouldered the responsibility of saving lives. Based on the practice of Union Hospital, Tongji Medical College, Huazhong University of Science and Technology, this article
analyzes the difficulties and strategies of public hospitals during combating against COVID-19 to summarize experience and put forward suggestion for the reference of public hospitals.

Coronavirus Disease 2019（COVID-19）is the most widely-affected virus disease in recent 100 years globally. The outbreak of COVID-19 not only threatens human health, but also is a big challenge to global health safety and governance. This paper mainly described different containment strategy, pattern and
effects against COVID-19 implemented by China and Italy. It aims to provide useful considerations for future international cooperation and response to public health crisis.

Current Status and Issues of COVID-19 Measures in Japan
　

【Abstract】
This new coronavirus infection was fi rst reported in Wuhan, China in December 2019. The coronavirus detected in patients in this outbreak has been named SARS-CoV-2. The WHO has also decided to designate it as Coronavirus Disease 2019（COVID-19）. In Japan, the first outbreak occurred between January 2020 and March-May 2020; the burdens of COVID-19 on medical institutions and public health centers are extremely high. It is also necessary to take measures to prevent infection while guiding some social activities.

Public health response to COVID-19 in Japan
　

【Abstract】
Public health responses on COVID-19 may be different between Japan and China, and it is meaningful to discuss the differences regarding culture and society between the two countries as the background. In Japan’s infectious disease responses, individual liberty and human rights are emphasized. I think it is important for Japanese people not to be forced or punished on individual actions by law, but to act through governmental “request” to people and “self-restraint” by individual voluntary will.
